What Are Implant-Supported Dentures?

Implant-supported dentures offer a revolutionary alternative for patients who are missing multiple teeth. Unlike traditional dentures that sit on the gums, implant-supported dentures anchor securely to dental implants placed surgically into the jawbone. This gives them stability, comfort, and functionality similar to natural teeth.

All-On-4 Implant Supported Dentures

All-on-4 is a descriptive name for dentures supported by four implants in the upper or lower jaw. In this procedure, four implants are placed in the sturdiest areas of bone and dentures are affixed to the implants.

Implant-supported dentures can either be removable for cleaning at home or permanently attached.

Finally, denture wearers can experience a new freedom. They can eat what they want, even sticky foods. And no longer will their dentures loosen or come out.

Why Only Four Implants?

Typically, four implants are enough to anchor dentures. Additionally, people who have worn dentures for many years have often lost a significant amount of bone in either jaw. By only placing four implants for either an upper or lower denture, the strongest areas of bone can be utilized. (Please note: Some patients may require more than four implants to stabilize their dentures.)

What is an Implant-Supported Bridge?

A fixed dental prosthetic that replaces multiple missing teeth is an implant-supported bridge. It is similar to implant-supported dentures in that it depends on dental implants for stability and support. This option is perfect for patients missing multiple adjacent teeth and wanting a permanent solution to restore their smile.

All-on-4 Dental Implants

The All-on-4 system provides a full-arch fixed restoration using only four strategically placed dental implants. This innovative technique maximizes support for the bone and reduces the need for bone-grafting procedures. It offers a quicker and more efficient way to replace missing teeth.

All-on-6 Dental Implants

All-on-6 implants are similar to All-on-4 dental implants in that they provide a fixed, full-arch restoration using six implants per arch. This method provides more stability and support for patients who have greater bone density.

“Dr. Michaelsen was awesome. He took out my tooth put in the implant along with a temporary that looks great!. He walked me through pretty much everything he was doing kept asking if I was ok. The assistant was great to Definitely kept me entertained and took my situation very seriously and even helped me relax by letting me know she has had the same thing done and that we can compare when mine is officially done. Julie helped me in financing everything and was absolutely great at helping me get the payments low enough to afford. It was definitely the best experience I have ever had. I even woke up and I hardly feel a thing it’s more sore where they stuck the needles to numb me than anything.”
