Happy Halloween from all of us at Dental Arts of Catoosa! We hope you have a joyous holiday season and many more seasons to come. However, we do wish you to be safe this season and take care of your precious teeth. Always remember to brush and floss daily. Also, try to avoid additional hazards that can pop up this holiday season, including numerous hazards associated with candies and sweets that can easily damage your smile.

Try to avoid sweets that have an excessive amount of sour ingredients. Sour candy has a high acidic content and is nearly on par with battery acid. This means you are at an extremely high risk for cavities, enamel loss, and tooth decay. Swap out acidic foods such as sour candies with healthier treats.

Sugar isn’t the only concern this holiday season. Excessively hard candies such as candy apples and popcorn balls can easily chip or crack teeth if you bite into them too hard. In addition, sticky or chewy sweets such as taffy or caramels can linger in your mouth long after eating them and can lead to dental erosion and tooth decay.

Keep your smile safe this Halloween. Dental Arts of Catoosa wishes you all a safe and joyous Halloween! We look forward to seeing you shortly. If you would like to book an appointment with Dr. Soren Michaelsen, please call us at 918-205-1378, or stop by our office in Catoosa, Oklahoma.
